When we purchased the school in 2003, it was in pretty good condition, but was fast falling apart from neglect. 90% of the ceilings were falling down, there was no heat in the building, part of the gym floor was rotted through, windows were falling apart and most of the glass was broken or missing and the electrical was in need of a serious update! On 7 Decemebr 2007, a solitary tornado took off the dormer of the roof, producing a garage sized hole in the school.
Since we purchased the school, we have installed heat on the first two floors and have fixed 75% of the windows on the house side. The gym windows still need to be worked on. We are dividing up some fo the room into two rooms and installing an additional bathroom or two. Currently we have only one in the basement (the old girls bathroom) and in the summer, we can use the bathrooms in the gym.
Eventually we will get electrical installed on the second floor to include heat installed. More on that issue as we work towards that goal too!

Window Work Windows Finished! Snow would blow More Window Work through in the winter on unfinished windows
The Boiler Room was a story in itself. After we removed the boiler system (with the help of Rusty Schiedler Construction) we removed over 12,000 lbs of boiler!!! In these two pictures we are patching the walls and putting in a ceiling. You can see where we filled in the hole where the boiler sat and the exhaust hole in the wall. The coal "Hopper" is still there and still has some coal in it. Ths room is currenly a storage room for building supplies. (Scrap wood, some PVC etc.)
